About Innkeepers Lodge Canterbury
Innkeepers Lodge Canterbury occupies a pub building dating back to the 1700s, The Old Gate Vintage Inn, giving the place a properly old character with beams, a fireplace and a lived-in, informal feel rather than a corporate hotel atmosphere.
Rooms are cosy and en-suite, with family rooms available and drinks available in room, plus free WiFi throughout. Guests can eat and drink downstairs in the on-site restaurant and bar, or make use of the garden and outdoor seating, and breakfast is served on site. Free on-site parking and 24 hour reception make arrivals straightforward at any hour.
Beyond the front door there's a pub and restaurant scene nearby, along with entertainment and fishing options in the area, all within reach of Canterbury's historic centre. It suits those who want a characterful, low-key base rather than a polished chain hotel experience.

After a long days driving the Old Gate Inn, part of the Innkeepers Collection, was just what I needed. Warm friendly faces greeted me, amd after a warm and delicious meal and hard earned drink, I went to one of the lovely rooms above the pub. Clean cotton sheets, hot water, big white towels, wonderful strong shower and comfy bed. Well kitted out...and very welcoming. I will certainly be back.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean. The complimentary tea and coffee was appreciated. However, as our room was at the front of the building and the 'secondary glazing' fairly ineffective, the noise was the passing traffic was quite loud and kept us awake until it reduced around midnight. We were also kept awake by the music from the restaurant which didn't stop until past 11pm but I suppose that's to be expected when staying above a restaurant. The matress on our bed was harder than we're used to!

One of the worst night I have had in a hotel. We stayed with a family of 4 in a family room (room no 4). The room is very dated and looks nothing like shown in the pictures. It was extremely hot and the room had no airco or any means of ventilation. There was one window but it opened up just a few centimeters. Because the hotel is located next to a busy road you wake up at 5 in the morning, if you had any sleep at all because of the heat. Don’t stay at this hotel, you’re better off driving to your destination.
