About Premier Inn Canterbury City Centre
Cathedral views from the bedroom window are the standout feature at Premier Inn Canterbury City Centre, a 120-room hotel on New Dover Road spread across five floors. Rooms are en-suite with air conditioning, and the hotel includes accessible options and a lift for easy access to all floors.
A restaurant and bar handle food and drink on site, with breakfast served each morning and drinks available in-room. The 24-hour reception means arrivals and queries are covered at any time, and the hotel's central position puts guests within walking distance of Canterbury's attractions, along with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby.
Parking is not on site, though chargeable parking is available a five-minute walk away at Longport Car Park, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it. Rooms are generally quiet and well kept, making this a straightforward base for exploring the city on foot rather than by car.
What guests say
As premier Inns go, this is a good one. Managed to get parked around the back for £10 per night (for 24 hours). Not many spaces though, there were only 3 spaces left by 1pm on a weekday. Pay at reception. Room was clean and tidy. Bed was good and comfortable as expected. Bathroom incudes a bath, good water pressure. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was the best we've had at a premier inn. Hot food was actually fresh and very good. Loved the sausages. Worth the cost. Best part was checkout being 12pm, could go back to bed after breakfast!

Great central location on the bus route for the new dover road park and ride. We opted for a room with a view of the cathedral which was lovely. A great night's sleep was had after enjoying a nice evening meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent too. All staff were helpful and we were made to feel welcome. A great hotel to visit cantebury from as it is just outside the old city walls.

The room was clean and the staff were very friendly BUT I ate at the hotel on my first night and I was very disappointed. I ordered the ceaser salad with a chicken and it was not great. I travel a lot and have ordered this in other premier inns and it is usually great but this one was not. I got one small gem lettuce cut into four and still on the stalk. One beef tomato cut into 5. One sweet corn cut into four or five and some croutons and cheese. Once I cut up my tomato and took the lettuce off of the stalk I had hardly any salad. After asking the kitchen for extra lettuce I was told the chef said no unless I paid for it. I work in customer service and this was terrible! Not only was it a very snall portion but i had to finish preparing it myself. I usually eat at the premier inn both nights (due to working hours where ever I am) but I won't get my evening meal here tomorrow. For the sake of extra lettuce (maybe a £1?), they lost a full meal tomorrow night.

Parking is an issue. If there is space next to the hotel you can park there and pay at reception. We paid for 2 days. If you move your car and return later and there is no space your payment is wasted and you have to go elsewhere and pay there. The bath has high sides and very hard to climb over (if you are disabled at all you can't, it's too high and slippery). The hand wash fluid was empty at the sink and not topped up after asking reception. This was a Premier Room
