We visited this museum on Easter Monday. We booked tickets online with free admission for our children. It wasn't crowded, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great museum for any ancient history fan, especially if you want to understand the important role Roman settlers played in England. The museum itself isn't huge, taking 1-1.5 hours to explore, but it's still worth it. If you're looking for something to get your children interested in history, this place is a good place to start. I highly recommend it.

Small but good museum about the Roman History of Canterbury. The setup of the museum is great with al the puppets and recreations. Very good if you're with small children. Had a lovely chat with Eve, she helped us a lot with recommendations for other visits.

A smallish but extremely interesting museum, it was surprising just how deep the Roman level was compared with today's streets. There was plenty to see and read and we weren't rushed along by any staff. There were replica shops, as the photos show, and the remains of the floor of a Roman house which was in situ. We spent over an hour wandering slowly through the museum.
