About Travelodge Canterbury Chaucer Central
An unlimited breakfast and a Bar Café serving drinks and light meals set the tone at Travelodge Canterbury Chaucer Central, a straightforward base for exploring the city on Ivy Lane. The morning spread is one of the things people come back for, offering good value before a day of sightseeing, while the bar gives somewhere easy to wind down in the evening without leaving the building.
The hotel has 59 rooms across three floors, all en-suite, with accessible rooms available and drinks available in-room. Beds are a consistent strong point, and the location manages to feel both central and quiet, close to the Cathedral and the station. Facilities extend to 24-hour reception, an electric vehicle charge point, and on-site parking, though this is chargeable, limited, and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so vehicles need registering at reception on arrival.
Pets are welcome, and there's a golf course, pubs and bars, and entertainment nearby, making it a reasonable base whether the visit is built around the Cathedral or wider Canterbury. It's worth noting that service and room upkeep can be inconsistent, so it suits guests after a no-frills, well-located stay rather than a polished city hotel experience.

What guests say
Can't really fault my stay for the price. Staff very pleasant. Superb location for accessing the city. Room was quiet and clean. Hairdryer and tumblers in the room would have been good but that's a minor quibble and I'm sure reception would provide if asked. Older style hotel and no AC but fan provided and that was perfectly adequate. Nice pub a few doors down.

Came here to stay for the night while visiting Canterbury and I can’t complain. Check in was easy and simple and the lady on the desk was nice. The room was nice, basic but nice. It is a shame there was no bedside table but there was a big desk. There was extra pillows, kettle, tea, coffee and milk which was nice. Hairdryers need to be asked for at the front desk which I didn’t find a problem. There was nothing wrong with the shower, it was nice and hot which you can change the settings. The bed was very comfy and the pillows were to my liking. We paid for unlimited breakfast in the morning which was definitely worth the money, plenty of tables, the staff member was friendly and helpful, all the hot food seemed very fresh. The location is great, it’s a 5 minute walk to the centre and only a short talk from the train station I definitely would stay here again well worth the money!

Just had 2 nights at this lovely hotel, rooms were huge and spotlessly clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, we had the pay as you go buffet breakfast which was freshly cooked and plenty of choice. The only thing missing was a fridge in the room otherwise a perfect stay, highly recommend.

The location of this Travelodge was fantastic. Less than 5 minutes into rust city centre by foot. Paying in advance for your parking is slightly cheaper and ready to do. The staff were all really friendly. The room was lovely and clean. Just what you need for a quick stay.
