About Premier Inn Cardiff Bay
A good breakfast spread and an on-site restaurant and bar set the tone at Premier Inn Cardiff Bay, making it an easy base whether you're stopping for one night or several. The beds are consistently singled out as a strong point, and with 210 rooms across eight floors, there's a fair choice of space for couples, families or business travellers, all with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. It's worth noting that some rooms show their wear, so don't expect everything to be pristine.
Staff are described as friendly and helpful, and practical extras include free WiFi, a lift, 24-hour reception, accessible rooms, luggage storage and meeting rooms for those travelling on business. Drinks can be ordered to your room, and an electric vehicle charge point is available on site. Parking itself isn't included at the hotel, but chargeable parking is available a minute's walk away at Q-Park Cardiff Bay on Pierhead Street.
The location by Mermaid Quay puts guests close to the Wales Millennium Centre, along with nearby pubs, restaurants, entertainment and watersports for those wanting to explore Cardiff Bay on foot. It's a straightforward, well-placed option for anyone wanting to be near the waterfront without needing a car once they've arrived.
What guests say
Nice hotel great welcome from nice staff. Clean and well kept. Its a little way out from the center about 10-15 pound in a taxi. 2 things in our stay that let it down however before anyone jumps on me we didn't have any time to address this with staff to be fair to them, we didn't Raise or ask. We went to a concert, so check in and check in time and had to go straight out when we arrive back around midnight. And I have to get into bed (room330) me and my wife realised the bed was really poor. I've stayed at many premier inn hotels but the the bed in this room. I felt like it'd see better days. Issue 2 Upon leaving we validated our parking ticket in a machine. As advised by staff. However, was left paying full price after the machine car park didn't register the validation to reduce parking custom cost. I'm sure if I'd gone and speak to staff, they would sort of it, however we really didn't the time as needed to collect children from school. All in all, the hotel was not a bad one on the bay area is lovely, with bustling restaurants and shops nearby.

On arrival room looks ok, great view however we were missing a set of towel. Went downstairs to speak to staff. Was told they would bring it up. 2hrs later around 6pm. No staff at front desk and pressing the buzzer to see pager vibrating infront of us. At the restaurant, 2 staff member were siting down and polishing cutlery ignoring us. Until we walk up and one of the lass went to find someone for us. The lady was huff and puff telling us 'I'll be bringing it up soon'. We understand the hotel can be busy but if you gonna delay just be honest. After a night sleep, Premier inn normally have the best mattress. However this wasnt. Upon inspection I see a spring sticking out the side of the bed as I sat up. Spoke to receptionist and he doesnt seem to understand how dangerous it could be. I do hope this get resolve.

It was very good value for a family of 4.separate beds for the children. Breakfast was very good. Great location near the Welsh assembly and coast line for walks and bike rides. 35 minute walk to the castle. The carpets were a bit tired but clean

*35 years of hotel stays and my first ever online review* Stayed here last night for work. First room I was booked into (237) genuinely smelt like a pub from the 90s. It had been smoked in so much, to the point I had to call my work colleague up to make sure I wasn't exaggerating. He walked in the room and literally started coughing!! After speaking to reception I was moved to room 703. DO NOT STAY IN THIS ROOM!! As soon as I laid down to sleep, it felt as if the whole room was vibrating or shaking, like somebody was moving heavy furniture in the adjacent room to the head of the bed. After getting absolutely zero sleep and leaving the hotel for work, I looked up from the outside of the hotel. This is when I saw a giant Premier Inn sign attached to the outside wall that the bed butts up to, literally flapping about in the wind and bashing against the wall of the bedroom. I cannot stress enough how much I would advise people to avoid this hotel. Thoroughly disappointed, as Premier Inns are usually fairly reliable. Tom Cunningham
