About Newby Cross
Newby Cross suits travellers who want an easy, no-fuss stopover for exploring Carlisle and the wider Cumbria area, particularly those arriving by car. Free on-site parking makes it a practical choice for anyone planning day trips out to the region's attractions rather than spending much time at the property itself.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, in-room drinks and free WiFi, and breakfast is available to set guests up for the day. There's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for relaxing outside, plus a spa and sauna on-site for winding down, and 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Luggage storage is also on hand for those breaking up a longer journey.
A pub or bar, restaurant and other eateries are all nearby, along with a golf course and entertainment options, so there's enough on the doorstep to fill an evening without needing to travel far. It works well as a straightforward base for touring Carlisle and the surrounding countryside.
What guests say
Currently still on our stay but wanted to leave a review now, lovely place to stay, Anne is such a lovely hostess and makes you feel welcome from the get go. The room is amazing, and the view is incredible, definitely a great sight first thing in the morning. It's a home away from home.
