About Cydawell

Escape the everyday at Cydawell, a tiny off-grid glampsite that materialises for just a few weeks each year in wildflower meadows and ancient woodland near Carmarthen. Access involves a scenic walk across two meadows and a stream crossing—hosts are on hand to help haul heavier kit—setting the tone for a properly remote stay beneath some of Britain's darkest skies. Your bell tent sleeps four with all linen provided, plus storage and seating inside; outside there's a picnic area under the trees, an outdoor kitchen, and a firepit for open-air cooking.

Days here unfold at nature's pace: forest bathing, wildlife watching, paddling in the stream, or simply soaking up the stillness. The hosts run the surrounding farm on regenerative principles and can arrange farm-to-table meals using their own produce. With a perfect five-star rating, guests praise the tranquil setting and warm hospitality, though be prepared for genuinely wild conditions—this isn't glamping-lite. Stargazing, exploring the spectacular Carmarthenshire countryside, or doing absolutely nothing all feel equally valid here.

Me and my husband just spent 2 lovely peaceful nights by the stream at Cydawell. We had our own tent but were able to use the lovely hot shower and compost lo. These were super clean and equipped with eco hand wash and everything we needed. We made a fire both evenings (wood and fire pit) provided and sat watching the bats and amazing star scape. It was a great experience of real off grid camping, Rick and Sharon transferred all our gear up and over the fields and across the stream leaving us to walk and admire the lovely views. I bought some of their honey from the farm shop where you can also get veg, eggs and fruit in season. We wish Sharon and Rick lots of luck with this new venture.

The most stunning and secluded place for a well needed rest. Who knew camping could be refreshing. The facility's are fantastic. Hot poweful shower, nice loo and a really cool kitchen with a view of a stream. Falling asleep to absolute silence, just the trickle of the stream is just perfect. Never Stayed in a tipi before, and I will again! Comfy bed, lots of space and headroom, again, did I mention privacy! You could be there and not see another person for days. It's perfect for people who want a real break away from society. Something we didn't expect was to have any Internet signal, but we did. And it was a really good 4g connection. Sharon, Rick and her boys made sure we had everything we needed, they took all our bags over to the tipi site for us so there was no messing about with heavy bags on the walk over. Very accommodating and really lovely down to earth people. We saw the stars at night, the sky there is different to the city. Absolutely breath taking views in every direction. We saw buzzards, swifts, eels, frogs and so much more, the amount of wildlife around is perfect for photographers and nature lovers. We will 100% be visiting again, perfect for the whole family or just a couple looking for a private escape. This isn't just a camp site. It's a personal retreat, it's got everything and more that you could possibly need.

Off grid glamping! Fabulous location. Beautifully appointed Bell tent with porch for storage. Perfect place to get away from it all sit by the fire pit waiting for the BBQ to ready for cooking. The babbling stream, trees rustling, distant sheep and cows calling and numerous birds singing. Heavenly. Thoroughly recommend it. We had a fabulous few nights there and made use of the star gazing chairs when the skies cleared on night 2 ☺️❤️
