About Lower Slaughter Manor

Lower Slaughter itself is one of the prettiest starting points for exploring the Cotswolds, with its honey-stone cottages and gentle riverside walks close by, and neighbouring villages, pubs and country restaurants all within easy reach for a day of wandering or driving through the surrounding countryside. Lower Slaughter Manor sits right in the middle of this landscape, giving guests a base from which to come and go as they explore.

The hotel itself has 19 rooms set within manor house grounds and gardens, with some suites opening onto their own private garden space and comfortable beds throughout. Public areas include a restaurant and bar, with breakfast and afternoon tea served to guests who consistently rate these as highlights, alongside lounges and meeting rooms for those combining leisure with business.

Facilities extend to free WiFi, air conditioning, a lift, laundry service, concierge assistance and free on-site parking, and the manor also operates as a wedding venue. Pets are welcome, and further pubs, restaurants and entertainment can be found nearby. Service is generally well regarded, particularly around dining, though it is worth noting some guests have found attentiveness inconsistent at busier times.

We stayed at the Slaughters Manor House for our Wedding weekend, it was everything we’d hoped for and more. We have so many lovely memories we’ll treasure forever. The team were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with any requests. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and the excellent service throughout our visit. We stayed in a suite and it was absolutely amazing! The hotel was so beautiful and the location was perfect! We are so grateful for such a lovely stay and celebrations - thank you everyone at the Slaughter’s Manor House! Laura and Oliver

We had afternoon-tea some years ago. The experience was such delight, that we could remember it as if it was yesterday. Great food. Great location, very good service. We will go back and certainly book a room and enjoy the food. One of the very best cream-tea we had.

I booked a stay at the slaughters Manor after previously visiting and admiring how beautiful the hotel is externally and its location. Unfortunately, the room did not meet the beauty of the outside, we were in a “dog friendly deluxe room” so I can appreciate a dog friendly room may not be quite up there like other rooms however there was mould on the blinds and just didn’t feel exceptionally clean and was dingy. I asked reception if they could change our room and they did so very promptly and without hassle, the second room was much better and the lady was friendly, but I wouldn’t brand them as deluxe yes they are spacious but the ceiling was covered in cobwebs that could easily be dusted. The bedding was clean and they supplied shower gel/shampoo etc. Unfortunately, not the stay I had imagined but the location and grounds are beautiful!

We checked into the Faye and Emma rooms, one deluxe the other standard. the Deluxe had views of the fire escape while the standard looked onto the front garden. Best to check what the views will be for the room if you're paying for a deluxe. The Emma room had cobwebs on the ceiling and the curtains, the coffee machine had dust on it and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly, there was hair on the bathrobe. The reception staff are pretty disinterested in greeting visitors. The breakfast is excellent, good choice of cooked options, courteous service and surprisingly great coffee. The reception left music on loud all night and we had to go turn it off in the middle of the night. The location is great, as nearby Cotswold villages are a walk away.
