About Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel
Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel puts its restaurant and bar at the heart of a stay, with breakfast served each morning and a menu on hand for evenings when guests would rather not venture out. It's a straightforward base for anyone wanting food, drink and a bed within easy walking distance of Chester's historic core.
The hotel has 67 rooms spread across four floors, all en-suite and generally roomy, reached by lift. Some rooms show their age and the air conditioning isn't always up to the job in warmer weather, so it's worth bearing that in mind, but the space on offer and the central position tend to outweigh those niggles for most visitors. Staff are consistently described as helpful, which counts for a lot when a room needs sorting. There's no parking at the property, so those arriving by car will need to plan ahead.
On St John Street in Chester, the hotel sits close to pubs, restaurants and eateries beyond its own, with entertainment nearby too. Further afield there's golf, fishing and horse riding for guests wanting to get out of the city, and meeting rooms on site for those combining business with the trip.

Stopped for one night during z golf trip. Room was OK, bed comfy. Wi down sealed shut ! So hot and uncomfortable until the air con did its job. Would prefer fresh air, why sell windows shut ? Location is great, centre of town but didn't hear anything once in the room. I'm not z big breakfast fan and the cooked didn't look to appetising, boiled bacon ! Limited amount of cereals/fruit with coffee from pump stations :( Car park just around the corner at £16 a night. Overall OK for what we needed.

The hotel is very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. We stayed in a double room on the second floor that wasn’t properly serviced before we arrived. No soap in the bathroom, rubbish on the floor from previous guests using the tea/coffee making set. Dust and cobwebs. The window was secured shut and with the recent heatwave, the room was too hot - no aircon, just a noisy fan. The cold tap in the bathroom was very loose. The breakfast was just about OK. We didn’t eat there on the second morning though. On a positive, the staff on the desk were very polite and helpful and the location was perfect, albeit a bit noisy with the revellers.

Perfect location. Local accessible car parks. Service very good. Only Gripe was price of drinks in the bar. There are ample pubs in Chester without paying hotel bar through the roof prices! Would definitely stay at this hotel again, without using the bar. Staff lovely and welcoming

Fantastic location and breakfast was a nice decent quality The rooms are dated, you can't open the windows as all screwed shut!! Absolutely sweltering with 1 little fan!! Supposed free elemis toiletries were completely empty and the bathroom mirror got so hot it felt like it was a radiator so made the windowless bathroom feel like a sauna. Having a shower was a joke ended up with a foot bath as water goes down that slowly. Hotel needs a make over badly carpet in our room was thread bare in places too. Bed was uncomfortable and felt more like a trampoline. Best thing is the location. Wouldnt stay again
