About Moxy Chester by Marriott
Boughton Street runs out towards the canal on the eastern edge of Chester, and Moxy Chester by Marriott makes use of that position, putting guests within walking distance of canalside paths as well as the city centre, Chester Cathedral and the Racecourse. It's a modern, five-floor hotel with 194 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and drinks available in-room, plus family and accessible rooms for those who need them.
Facilities run to a restaurant, bar and outdoor seating, along with a gym, games room and business services for anyone mixing work with the trip. Free WiFi, room service, laundry and luggage storage cover the practical side, and there's an electric vehicle charge point on site, though the hotel itself has no parking. Breakfast is served, and free tea and coffee along with round-the-clock snacks are available throughout the stay.
Staff are attentive and the rooms are consistently well kept, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment all nearby, plus golf and fishing within reach for those wanting to get outdoors. Anyone driving should plan for parking elsewhere in the city, but the location near the train station and centre makes the hotel an easy base for exploring Chester on foot.
What guests say
Such a great vibe at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and set the tone perfectly with a free welcome cocktail at check-in. The room itself was impressively clean and generously sized. Can't fault it at all—would definitely stay again!

Location is 15-20 minute walk from most things. Bar / food service was poor. Rooms are typical Moxy - modern, small, everything you need. Bathroom was very small. Beds were really comfortable, pillows were nice.

Myself and my daughter are just home from a 3 night stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel. Its a lovely hotel with a great vibe located by the canal, its a 5-10 min walk from the train station (including a small flight of stairs down to the canal side) and a 5 minute walk to the city centre so ideally located for a visit to Chester. Check in was hassle free, staff are lovely, our room was on the 4th floor with a lovely view of the canal (You have to use your room key card to operate the lift or access the door to the stairs which was a good bit of extra security). The bar area is lovely, you can get drinks and food all day, free coffee/tea for guests is also available. There's giant connect 4,Kerplunk and Jenga too which was fun 😊. Some reviews I read mentioned the rooms are 'small',we stayed in a queen sleeper room which was fine,we only really slept, showered and changed in there so it was big enough for us. They do have bigger rooms aswell. Our room was clean, bed was comfy.Theres tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and a hairdryer too aswell as toiletries. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. They also have snacks available 24/7 including pizza. If I visit Chester again I'd definitely book to stay here.

Very cute little room. They've managed to fit a lot into a small space, the bathroom sink was on a slant to fit the toilet it. Very practical. No fridge tho we were cooling our drinks in the sink lol. Free drinks upon entry and in a good spot within Chester.
