A lively pub hotel on Grosvenor Street, Chester, with rock-themed rooms, ideal for those after atmosphere over polish and a good Sunday roast.

About The Saddle Inn

The Saddle Inn suits travellers who want to be in the middle of Chester's social scene rather than tucked away in a quiet corner. With just nine rooms, each done out in a rock-themed style, it has more personality than a standard city hotel, and its bar hosts live music and karaoke nights that draw a proper local crowd. Anyone after minimalist calm should look elsewhere, but for a stay with some noise and character, it delivers.

Food is a strong point, with homemade dishes, generous breakfasts and a Sunday roast that regulars come back for, all served in the on-site restaurant. The bar keeps drink prices reasonable, and staff are consistently friendly. Some of the rooms show their age, so this is a place better suited to those prioritising atmosphere and value over slick, modern décor.

Facilities stretch further than the pub-hotel format might suggest, including a gym, spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, and meeting rooms, alongside free WiFi, air conditioning and a garden. Free on-site parking is available, and the address on Grosvenor Street puts guests within easy reach of Chester's restaurants, bars and entertainment.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed at The Saddle Inn, Chester on Friday night and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was brilliant – relaxed, unpretentious, and full of friendly faces. Styled as a proper rock bar, the whole place has a unique charm. Our room was the “Slayer” room – spotless, fun, and full of character with drums as bedside tables and a guitar on the wall. After checking in, we headed back down for drinks (very reasonably priced) and some food. The food was absolutely beautiful – cooked to perfection, presented with care, and tasted amazing. We loved it so much we went back for food two days in a row! The vibe of the bar is second to none, and meeting the lovely owner really showed how much passion goes into the place. We even got to meet her two gorgeous French bulldogs, which was a bonus as we have one at home too. An amazing rock bar with a brilliant atmosphere, great food, and unique rooms. When we’re next in Chester, we’ll 100% be staying at The Saddle Inn again.

The food and cakes were delicious, we tried some hungarian specialities from the menu. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and it has a good atmosphere. I will definitely return again in the future. :) EDIT - Recently visited for second time, I've tried the stuffed cabbage from the hungarian specials, it was amazing. Staff was very kind :)

This is a fun place with friendly staff. The rooms are rock themed. We had the Metallica and Megadeath rooms. They had karaoke night when we were there. Bar is a happening spot. The breakfast was good. Had eggs Benedict. Parking best found in a nearby lot. Street parking is only 10 minutes for non residents.
