We visited Davy’s at Plantation Place for our Christmas lunch as a large group of around 25 people, and overall the experience was disappointing. Positively, it was great to have a private area and the atmosphere at the tables was fun…the company definitely made the day enjoyable. However, the food itself didn’t live up to expectations, especially considering the price paid for a Christmas lunch. The starters were acceptable, but the main course felt very rushed. The meat quality was poor, with far too much gristle and very little actual meat. On one table, no vegetables or gravy were served at all, which was especially disappointing for a Christmas meal. Thankfully, that table was enjoying the company more than the food, but it shouldn’t really be an issue at this price point. I do appreciate that it’s an extremely busy period for hospitality venues, but the lack of attention to the food really let the experience down. Given the cost and expectations, we’ll likely look elsewhere for a large-group Christmas lunch next year. That said, it may well be better suited to smaller groups where staff can give more attention, but unfortunately for a large festive booking, it didn’t hit the mark for us.

Had a wine tasting in Davy’s Plantation. 12 people. Friday night. Restaurant was empty through the middle of our tasting. Sommelier - tried his best, wine selection - questionable, engagement - questionable. Food - bruschetta - sourdough sprinkled with whatever was there. Mains - chicken - it is what it is, “mushroom stroganoff” - big no, just borrowed it’s name from the wonderful continental dish. Dessert- sad. Apple crumble overpowered by rhubarb - should rename rhubarb crumble and then - no one orders it. Service (for an empty restaurant)- mediocre at best, of course “ from now on we are cashless”, surprise and attitude when asked to remove service charge. Positives - clean, design - quote interesting especially in designated rooms. Wine feom the menu - delicious.

Magda was an amazing host/organiser for our work event and looked after us so well the whole evening. Big thank you to both her and her team who were equally attentive and lovely

Overpriced, mediocre slop for unsuspecting city workers with expense cards. The 'baked' burrata was a pathetically small portion of completely cold burrata, absolutely no sign of baking here. £10 thank you. The wild mushroom orzo main was a disappointing bowl of meh, like a badly executed hellofresh dish, except it cost £18. Will not return.
