The wood-fired hot tub sits in the garden at Coed Mawr, a detached stone cottage on 15 acres within Gwydir Forest near Conwy. Sheep graze the surrounding land; those are your closest neighbours. The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms—a double with ensuite on the ground floor, a super kingsize and a zip-and-link room upstairs—plus a second bathroom with shower. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
The ground floor holds a living room with woodburner and smart TV, and a kitchen/dining room fitted with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. Parking for four cars is on site, and there's an electric charging point. The cottage sits 1½ miles from Betws-y-Coed, where you'll find pubs, restaurants and shops. Smoking is not permitted inside.
For what to do nearby: Llyn Elsi and Llyn Geirionydd lie close by for kayaking and paddleboarding. Gwydir's Marin bike trails start practically on the doorstep; Swallow Falls is three miles away. Zipworld and the forest coaster at Llechwedd Quarry are a 20-minute drive. Public footpaths cross nearby land if you'd rather walk.

Where to start… just got back from our stay here.. stunning. From the moment we arrived and the lovely welcome by Beth, to the moment we left and the warm goodbye from Andrew it was perfect. We had room 5 with the most amazing views, seating area, gorgeous comfy bed and stunning bathroom. There is a communal room downstairs which we loved along with the bonus of a fridge to pop bits in if needed. The breakfast provided had a great range of choice and nothing was too much trouble if you wanted something specific. The lady that served breakfast was lovely and friendly. There are various walks in the surrounding area and lots to do. We are already talking of our next visit here as it was so beautiful. Would not change my review but the only two things I think would be useful are a little shelf in the shower to pop bits on, and a little bit of bubble bath for that amazing roll top bath.. but these are not things that would put us off recommending for others! Thanks for having us x Nikita and Tom x

We had high hopes for our booking at Coed Mawr but the location, cottage and hosts totally exceeded our expectations. Firstly, the location is absolutely stunning. Rolling hills, sheep and new born lambs. Lovely garden too. It's remote enough to be peaceful but so close to Conwy and other beautiful surrounding towns. The cottage itself is done up to an excellent standard with absolutely everything you would need. It was warm, cosy and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine (an absolute must have with three kids!). Finally the hosts were wonderful. They were both friendly and welcoming but also went above and beyond to help answer our questions and help us when we needed it. I couldn't recommend Coed Mawr enough and we will definitely be back again!

We spent three nights in this lovely family run B&B. Coed Mawr Hall sits on a slightly elevated position which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Andrew and Beth could not have made us more welcome they were the perfect hosts. The house is impressive as you make your way along it's winding drive. Internally it's a mix of contemporary and traditional furnishings with many of its original features retained. Our room was spacious with dual aspect windows taking advantage of the beautiful views. The bed was extremely comfortable and if I could have squeezed it into our car we would have taken it home with us. Breakfast was delicious with locally sourced produce - always something that we look out for. We visited the local pub which is only a short walk away and there are lots of restaurants, places of interest and of course Conwy Castle only minutes away by car. The whole experience of Coed Mawr Hall was FANTASTIC. We will be back!!!!! David & Lena
