Hallowarren Barn

The moment you step inside Hallowarren Barn, you're met with low wooden beams and thick stone walls—the structural bones of an 18th-century threshing barn that have been kept deliberately visible. Ground floor opens into a living and dining space with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen fitted with an electric range and dishwasher, and a shower room. Upstairs, three bedrooms spread across the first floor: one with a king bed and ensuite bath with shower attachment, one double with ensuite, and one with two single beds. Every bedroom has its own heated towel rail and toilet access. This is a place where the original character dominates the feel.

The real draw lies outside. Extensive gardens wrap around the property, planted and maintained by the owner, who lives separately on the grounds. A small stream with a bridge divides the space into quieter seating areas. Parking for three cars sits on site. The barn accepts one or two small dogs and is non-smoking throughout. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; travel cots and highchairs available on request.

Location-wise, you're on The Lizard peninsula near Carne Mill, positioned between the Helford River area and a scatter of small villages inland. The coastal setting is close enough to reach without feeling hemmed in by tourism.
