Bram Cragg Barn

Families and larger groups will find Bram Cragg Barn works well for a week away – there's space to spread out across four bedrooms, each with an ensuite, and a first-floor living area designed to catch the fell views. The conversion retains original features like oak beams and slate, paired with contemporary comfort; the open-plan ground floor holds kitchen, dining and sitting spaces around a woodburner, while upstairs offers a separate spa bath and additional toilet. One dog is welcome here.
The property sits detached on a working farm near Keswick, with direct access to footpaths for everything from gentle riverside walks to more serious fell routes. Helvellyn, Blencathra and Skiddaw dominate the outlook. You get private parking for three cars, an enclosed garden with patio and barbecue, and a bike store – useful given the cycling potential on the quieter roads hereabouts. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; if you visit between September and March, wood for the burner is too. The nearest shop is about four and a half miles away; a pub and restaurant are roughly two and a half miles. No smoking in the barn.

Beautiful place, we stayed in a really well equipped and luxurious lodge. Very quiet and isolated location, hardly any mobile data or WiFi so great if you really want to get away from it all!

Fantastic place, 2 lodges and a barn and cottage to stay in. Stunning views through the vale, owners very friendly, as are their collies. Plenty of wildlife around. Handy for Keswick and heading south deeper in the lakes. Highly recommended.
