Dalton Cottage

Dalton Cottage stands on elevated ground in Cumberland, a short walk from Bassenthwaite Lake and within reach of Dodd Woods. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: two king beds (one with ensuite, one with shared bathroom access) and a twin room, each with its own ensuite or bathroom. Three bathrooms means mornings run smoothly. The ground floor holds a sitting room with woodburner, a second living space with Freeview, a kitchen with full cooking equipment including dishwasher, and a separate toilet. Upstairs are the three bedrooms with heated towel rails throughout. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen, towels and initial wood-burner fuel are included; the house runs on oil central heating and draws water from a borehole.

The property suits families and groups wanting countryside quietness without isolation. Walking starts from the doorstep—Dodd Woods for osprey watching, Bassenthwaite Lake within two miles, and fell routes including Skiddaw and Catbells nearby. One dog can stay free and must be kept on a lead (sheep country). There is parking for two cars on site. Keswick, Cockermouth and dog-friendly pubs are a short drive away. The cottage is non-smoking throughout.
