Bassenthwaite Lake is less than a mile away, and Skiddaw dominates the skyline from this detached lodge on a rural farm between Keswick and Bassenthwaite village. The immediate surroundings are quiet and open; the location itself puts you within reach of serious fell walking, gentler lakeside paths, and cycling routes across the National Park. Bassenthwaite village has a pub serving local cask ales and food, a natural waypoint for a day out.
The lodge is entirely on one level with three steps to the entrance. The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with French doors opening onto a decked area. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room; the second bedroom contains two single beds served by a family bathroom. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers and heated towel rails. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included. You get private parking for two cars and a front garden with seating. The property is no-smoking.
This suits couples and small families using the location as a base for walking or cycling, or those after a quiet break with countryside views and straightforward comfort rather than elaborate facilities.

Nearly new. Very well appointed house. There's NO Wi-Fi. Good for people who are addicted to mobile phones and WhatsApp to get rid of their addiction

Absolutely impecable. The best views, in perfect silence. Super-friendly host who left us a bottle of wine and other goodies. Everyrhing working superbly, at an unbeatable rate. Great base to visit the entire Lake District, and even go to Scotland for the day. Highly recommendable.

Very clean and spacious caravan in a great location. We stayed in Ullock Pike - we're a family of three with a toddler - and it was perfect accommodation for a week. An absolute bargain as well, considering it was half term!
