Keswick sits at the heart of the Lake District, surrounded by high fells and deep valleys. Field House Cottage is a standalone property on the edge of the village, with parking on site and direct access at ground level. The single bedroom holds a four-poster king bed; the bathroom is en-suite with a heated towel rail and shower. Downstairs, an open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas around a woodburner, with a 43-inch smart TV, Netflix and a DVD player for quieter evenings.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and everything else you need to cook. An enclosed courtyard with patio and garden furniture opens from the living space, with views towards Maiden Moor and High Spy. The private hot tub for two sits here. Wifi, electricity, bed linen, towels and logs for the woodburner are all included; there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in the shared laundry room. A welcome pack is provided on arrival. The cottage suits couples; no smoking is permitted. Within a mile are five restaurants and bars, while Derwent Water is nearby for boat hire, and walking routes range from gentle lakeside paths to the higher fells.

Myself and my partner have just finished a week long stay at field house lodge and we had the most amazing time! The accomodation was perfect for two. It was comfortable, well stocked, cozy and in an amazing location. The host, Hazel was friendly and informative, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to enjoy the lake District!

We had the most wonderful stay at Field House with our daughter and son in law who had stayed here before....we wanted for nothing and the property was spotlessly clean and a complete unique home from home. All the personal little touches were very welcome too as was the great welcome pack. The hot tub was perfect to relax in after a busy day walking and enjoying the stunning scenery on the doorstep and we can now understand and appreciate why this is their 'happy place'. Thank you once again Hazel and her husband for letting us experience your little piece of heaven.....it won't be the last time we visit The Lakes and all this gorgeous part of the world has to offer couples, family the young and old.....if we could rate your beautiful property 6 stars we would ! We booked Field House to accommodate additional members of a week-long 80th birthday celebration, who absolutely loved it! Stunning old house, beautifully renovated, and the hot tub got plenty of use, including the ingenious umbrella hats for keeping cold Borrowdale rain off warm shoulders! Hope to return soon!

Our recent stay at Field House was nothing short of magical, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Nestled right in the heart of the Lake District, the cottage is perfectly situated for exploring, yet feels like a secluded, tranquil escape. The dark skies on a clear night are amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The hosts Hazel & Steve greeted us with a genyine warm, welcome, they are attentive but not overly, and full of great local tips. The welcoming touch of Prosecco waiting for us was just the perfect start to our holiday. The cottage itself is beautiful; it’s cozy, impeccably clean, and decorated with a charming rustic style that honors the historical age along with the environment. The kitchen is fully equipped for home cooking. After a long day of hiking, the hot tub was great! The cottage has comfortable beds and the peaceful surroundings ensured we slept like logs. The location is a walker's paradise, especially for thise completeing the Wainwrights. We enjoyed a classic hike up Cat Bells, which offeres some of the most spectacular, iconic views of Derwentwater. We highly recommend a walk upto Walla Crag, the views across the landscape are fantastic and well worth the walk. If you’re feeling more adventurous and want a full day out, take on the route over High Spy leading toward Dale Head and past the historic slate mine and round...It's a proper Lake District tourist challenge that rewards you with rugged beauty and a sense of accomplishment. Overall, this cottage provides the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and the ideal location for an unforgettable break in the lakes! 5/5 Stars - Highly recommended for hospitality and location. We are looking forward to a return trip in a different season 😀
