This Victorian property has been thoroughly restored and stands on private grounds near Cockermouth, on the edge of Herdwick Croft Holiday Park. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms mean there's space for eight guests: a king in the master with walk-in shower, another king with bath, a double, and two singles. Each bedroom has its own ensuite and smart TV. Downstairs there's a living room with an open fire, a dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, American fridge freezer, microwave and coffee machine. A utility room has a washing machine. Oil central heating keeps things warm; electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.
Outside, the lawned gardens have a summer house, barbecue and fire pit, plus a hot tub set in the private grounds. There's parking for three cars on site. The location sits within reach of the northern Lake District's footpaths, with Bassenthwaite nearby and the higher fells of Skiddaw and Blencathra visible from the area. Cockermouth itself is close by, and the Lakes Distillery and various country pubs are within walking distance. No smoking inside the property.

Would not recommend purely based on the customer experience Vs cost. Pros: - Beautiful accomodation and surroundings - Comfy beds - Hot tubs were great - Clean Cons: - Zero check in instructions with an incorrect address, incorrect advice listed on air BnB and no one or reception open to advise how to get in, turn out the property is just left open - zero communication from the host when we raised amenities that were broken or unusable (dishwasher & BBQ) - when we eventually were able to get to speak with the host through cottages.com emergency line (after 4 days and 3 emergency calls) the host was incredibly rude and intimidating, I've been using air BnB for 6 years and travelled extensively and have never experiences such rudeness to the point where I didn't want him to return as felt unsafe around him Air BnB were great at resolving our issues but cottages.com really passed the buck.

We all had the most amazing time here. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The site is immaculate I would say more showers would be great. But the facilities were clean and spotless. The bar was a little pricey on certain drinks. Maybe a dog friendly corner could be included so we could use the bar more ? On a whole great place to stay and enjoy the most breathtaking views and enjoy other local scenery
