Highmoss Farm - Watches is a detached lodge set within the grounds of a working beef and sheep farm, a mile from Bassenthwaite Lake and just over a mile from Bassenthwaite village. The single-storey layout means everything is at ground level: a combined living, dining and kitchen space opens onto decking, with a kingsize bedroom and ensuite, a twin bedroom, and a separate shower room. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; the kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and microwave, while gas central heating keeps things warm year-round. Private parking for two cars is on site, and there is a bike store.

The garden features decking, a gas barbecue and furniture, and views towards the fells. Bassenthwaite village has a pub serving local cask ales. The location gives immediate access to walking and cycling routes across the Lake District, including approaches to Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra. The property is non-smoking.

Nearly new. Very well appointed house. There's NO Wi-Fi. Good for people who are addicted to mobile phones and WhatsApp to get rid of their addiction

Absolutely impecable. The best views, in perfect silence. Super-friendly host who left us a bottle of wine and other goodies. Everyrhing working superbly, at an unbeatable rate. Great base to visit the entire Lake District, and even go to Scotland for the day. Highly recommendable.

Very clean and spacious caravan in a great location. We stayed in Ullock Pike - we're a family of three with a toddler - and it was perfect accommodation for a week. An absolute bargain as well, considering it was half term!
