The Bird Bath

The Bird Bath occupies a converted barn in open countryside outside Wreay, a small village four miles south of Carlisle. Suckler cows and sheep graze the surrounding fields, and a stretch of the River Petteril runs through the property – guests have free access to 1.5 miles of trout fishing. A pub with a restaurant sits half a mile away; Carlisle itself is within reach for shops and amenities.

Upstairs is a self-contained apartment with a king-size bedroom, a living room that converts to a double bed for extra guests, and a shower room. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals rather than heating ready-mades. Downstairs, a treatment room operates separately, so your space remains private. A hot tub for four occupies the sitting-out area – you can book this by the hour if you want to use it yourself. Electricity and bed linen are included; heating is oil central. A cot is available if needed, and there is parking for one car on site. No smoking is permitted indoors.
