The Fells sits on a quiet, elevated corner above Keswick town centre, high enough to command unobstructed views across rooftops towards the surrounding fells. Ten steps lead to the entrance of this mid-terrace cottage, which sleeps five across three bedrooms: a double, two singles, and another single. There's one bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a separate ground-floor toilet. The whole property is yours alone, and one well-behaved pet is welcome.
Downstairs, the living room has a smart TV and electric fire. The kitchen and dining area are equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. Upstairs sits the bedrooms and bathroom. Outside, an enclosed lawned garden with patio and sitting-out area provides a private outdoor space, and a pub sits within a mile of the cottage.
The location works for families, walkers and anyone wanting fell access without being far from town amenities. A footbridge 50 metres down the lane crosses the River Greta into Fitz Park, which has a children's playground. Keswick town centre, with its shops and restaurants, is a couple of minutes' walk away. No smoking inside the property.

Sale Fell (359 m) is a Wainwright that is found at the extreme North Western lakes area - from the top, views west give wide panoramic vistas of the coastal plains and coast line. More Northerly views present the Solway estuary back-dropped by Scottish mountains. And in a more easterly direction the lovely Bassenthwaite lake back-dropped by Skiddaw, Dodd on one side and Barf, Lord's seat and Broom Fell on the other. Though the better panoramic view is when you move on from Sale Fell top towards Lothwaite (345 m) where a seat provided gives you the time to take in this gorgeous sided valley view at its best. Ascending from Wythop mill end, there is free parking for a few cars at the farmers gate. Unfortunately, the personal note on the farmers gate asking dog walkers to keep their dogs on leads and be respectful was unheeded by most of the dog walkers seen on this hike. From the car park, you are greeted with quite a rapid incline that gets the heart pumping, but once up it is a very gentle and easy meander from point to point (there is an obvious triangulation to be made between peaks). At a very gentle pace it takes approx. 2 hrs, the routes appear maintained and mostly grassed covered.

Gorgeous walk on soft green turf for much of it especially near the top. The view of the lake and countryside is absolutely stunning. Very quiet and peaceful. The walk took us about 3 and a half hours at a leisurely pace.
