Shemara Rooms is a compact guest house on Bank Street in the heart of Keswick, with just four rooms giving it the feel of a small, personally-run stop rather than a large hotel. Its size means guests get straightforward, uncomplicated stays, with 24 hour reception on hand whenever needed.
Each room is en suite, and several look out towards the surrounding fells, making the most of the setting within the Lake District National Park. A free Cumbrian breakfast is included, and there's a kitchen available on site along with free WiFi and luggage storage for those arriving early or leaving late. Free on-site parking is provided, which is a useful bonus in a town centre location.
Keswick itself puts walking and cycling routes within easy reach, along with fishing, watersports and a golf course nearby, and there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries close by for evenings after a day on the fells. Pets are welcome, making it a practical base for exploring the wider Lake District.

Lovely stay for Easter weekend 2026. The location is very central yet peaceful at the same time. A great base for exploring the Lakes and the Keswick nightlife. The complimentary milk and drinks in the room was a lovely touch. Convenient parking as well. Matty and Victoria replied to us promptly with any queries we had and even posted us items we had accidentally left behind! We can’t thank you enough. The only thing I would change was the amount of storage for clothes in the room; a chest of drawers would have been useful. Overall, a fabulous stay and we will be back!

Gorgeous place and right in the centre of Keswick. Easy check in & out (via key lock box by the door). Modern bathroom and spacious room with lots of nice features. Views of the mountains from the window seat are breathtaking! Milk was provided along with cereal (nice touch). Fantastic!

Final night here and can only say positive things. my wife being pregnant we spent quite a bit of time in our room and so comfortable. We got the superior room 4, all the usual comforts however some things I think deserve a mention - fridge (with 2 bottle of water 1 beer 1 cocktail and milk. Playing cards, books, loads of tv option's, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. Although close to a road we couldn't hear any traffic. Great views and plenty places nearby for food and drinks

We loved our two nights here! The view from the room was absolutely incredible. The bed was very comfy and the room had a fridge and microwave, as well as bowls/ plates, cutlery and tea and coffee making facilities. The location is so close to all Keswick has to offer. The room was better than what we expected- newly renovated and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was small, and is still waiting for an upgrade, but did the job fine. When we contacted the owners, they were very responsive. Would highly recommend!
