Whitegates

Half a mile from Derwentwater, Whitegates sits in a quiet residential corner of the village with direct access to the lake's walking routes and the surrounding fells. The detached bungalow is single-storey throughout, which means no stairs to navigate with luggage or children. There's parking for two cars on site, a bike store, and both front and rear gardens.

The layout gives you two bedrooms—one with a double bed, the other with two singles and a bunk bed—and a bathroom with bath and shower. The living room has a TV and DVD player with a gas fire for cooler evenings, while the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included. A cot is available for an additional charge.

Keswick is a 20-minute walk across the fields if you want a busier town, but the village itself has a pub with food and a restaurant. The property does not allow smoking.
