Spent a wonderful night here recently and honestly wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage itself is full of character, with breathtaking views across the valley that made the whole place feel incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Our room was spotless, cosy, and beautifully decorated, and the breakfast the next morning was absolutely fantastic. A really thoughtful touch was the packed lunch prepared for our hike the following day — it made everything so easy for us. What really made the stay special though was the warm welcome we received from the moment we arrived. The hospitality felt genuine and personal, more like staying with old friends than checking into accommodation. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last. Already looking forward to coming back again soon.

Had a lovely stay recently just for one night. A beautiful old cottage with stunning views of the Langdale Valley. Our room was superb as was the breakfast, plus we also had our packed lunches made for our walk the following day. We were made so welcome from the moment we arrived that we almost felt like we had been personally invited rather than as paying guests! It was our first time of visiting Millbeck but we're already looking forward to returning again.

Lovely old place in amazing surroundings. Sue was an absolute pleasure, with lots of tips on seeing the area, and the consummate hostess. Breakfasts were perfect and we even got some laundry done! I'd STRONGLY recommend paying online before you get there because there is limited WiFi connectivity for making a bank transfer/payment...and the nearest ATM is a distance. Make sure to walk up the hill to see the waterfall and we recommend a walk up Blea Tarn.

If what you like is a traditional lakes b and b with all the trimmings you won't like this place. But if you are a walker, the location is superb. Walking distance of all the really good Central and Southern peaks. Copious breakfast. Friendly atmosphere. Walking distance from a few decent places to eat in the evening.
