Groups of up to 12 will find space and comfort in this single-storey barn conversion at Bradbourne Mill, a collection of historic properties in the Peak District National Park. The main house contains four bedrooms and a family bathroom; a separate annexe has two further bedrooms, each with ensuite facilities. Bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with initial logs for the wood burner. One well-behaved dog stays free, and a travel cot and highchair are available if needed.
The kitchen is fully equipped for catering to a crowd, with an electric range, dishwasher and washing machine. The living room has a wood burner, television and games. Outside, there's an enclosed patio with garden furniture and a barbecue, plus a paddock and parking for six cars. The barn itself is sympathetic to its 500-year history—ancient stonework and oak beams remain visible, though the conversion is comfortable and modern. Walks start from the property itself; The Water Mill is nearby for a visit. No smoking indoors, and the adjoining land slopes unevenly towards the river, which is unfenced, so children need supervision in this area.

We had a lovely family birthday weekend in December at the Barn - 12 of us of various ages, using the main house and the cottage. The house is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, containing everything we needed. It was fun to have the hot tub and we appreciated the Christmas tree in the lounge and the welcome pack. Highly recommended!

We have just spent a magical family Christmas at Tissington Ford Barn. Being able to be together in this very spacious cottage made it a very special time for us. The very spacious living area was a great space for us all to gather to enjoy the festivities. There were special treats waiting for us when we arrived and the cottage was tastefully decorated with a beautiful tree next to a log fire which made for a very homely feeling. There was also a beautiful hamper filled with local produce and doggy treats too. The kitchen provided everything we needed and the bedrooms were very comfortable. In the words of our 5 year old grandson it was his best Christmas ever. From our first contact with the property manager Sophie through to meeting David the owner it was obvious that the team were very customer focused and they provided a first class service. We were allowed to visit the property before finalising the booking in order to satisfy us that it was the ideal place to share a special family time. Sophie was always contactable to answer our questions when we were planning the stay and was always very prompt in responding to us. Upon our arrival everything that we had been promised was provided and the check in and out process was very easy due to the detailed instructions provided. A visit from David on our check in day to ensure we had settled in was greatly appreciated. The team at Tissington David Sandra & Sophie ensured our stay with them was perfect. We would definitely recommend Tissington Ford Barn to anyone looking for a country retreat to celebrate a special occasion.
