Starry Cottage

You step into Starry Cottage to find a substantial living space centred on a wood-burning stove and a 46-inch Smart TV. The ground floor opens into a kitchen and dining area where you can cook proper meals on a gas cooker, with microwave, fridge and freezer at hand. Upstairs, one bedroom holds a kingsize bed, the other a double; a single shower room serves both. The property is Grade II listed, dating to 1820, though it has been fully renovated inside.

Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. There is a washing machine in an outhouse. One parking space in the nearby car park is provided (available 4pm–11am); additional street parking is available. The enclosed courtyard has garden furniture and a sitting-out area. One dog or cat stays free. Smoking is not permitted.

Bakewell town centre is a few minutes' walk away, with independent shops, cafés and restaurants surrounding the Monday market and farmers' market (last Saturday). The Monsal Trail and Lathkill Dales lie within 10 minutes, as do Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Walkers have direct access to the Peak District countryside; Sheffield, Derby and Manchester are each roughly an hour's drive.
