The Penthouse

The Penthouse is a well-equipped second-floor flat in Matlock town centre, sleeping four across two bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything essential for a self-catering stay is provided—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The kitchen is properly set up for cooking, and the open-plan living and dining area has large windows bringing in natural light. This is a no-smoking property.

Location matters here. From the flat, you're surrounded by the things that make Matlock work as a base: shops and cafés within immediate reach, the River Derwent and riverside walks accessible on foot, and Hall Leys Park with its lake and gardens nearby. A pub sits within a mile. The Heights of Abraham cable car, Peak Rail steam trains, and Crich Tramway Village are all close by for days out. Longer walks into the surrounding hills start right from the town itself.

The layout suits couples or families who want to settle in properly rather than just sleep. After a day exploring, you return to a calm space set slightly above street level, with room enough to spread out comfortably for a week or longer.
