About Showmans Wagon at Coed Cae

Dolgellau sits at the foot of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia, a market town well placed for walkers and cyclists drawn to the surrounding hills and the Mawddach Trail nearby. Just outside the town, Showmans Wagon at Coed Cae offers a single, distinctive place to stay for those wanting a quieter base among the scenery rather than a town-centre hotel.

The wagon itself is a one-room retreat with an en-suite bathroom, a small kitchen and drinks provided in the room, along with garden and river views from the grounds. Guests have access to a garden and picnic area with outdoor seating, and the property offers free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point, plus free WiFi and 24 hour reception despite its small scale. Pets are welcome, making it a practical choice for those travelling with a dog.

There's a bar on site, and pubs, restaurants and other eateries can be found nearby for anyone not cooking in. The setting suits walking and cycling in particular, with Cadair Idris and the Mawddach Trail within easy reach for day trips into the wider Snowdonia landscape.

Fabulous place to stay. Wagon was quirky, amazing, great location, cozy, clean and very comfortable. Make sure you take a walk over the toll bridge to watch the sunset.

We loved our stay here last year and are booked again this year, even better as it's set on its own with self catered facilities and your own enclosed space outside which was lovely to sit out in and great for our dog. The wagon is very comfortable and quirky with lovely views and the owners are a little further up the drive if needed. Local walks from the wagon or a car drive to beaches and shops.

Stopper there 18 months ago. Lovely spot which is realy well done out. Log burner in the lounge. Comfortable bed. Great walking and cycling. Steep hill up to the wagon. Would happily stop here again.
