Blackbird

Blackbird is a ground-floor cottage sleeping six across three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Two are doubles; one is a twin. The layout centres on an open-plan living and dining space with a woodburner, and a kitchen fitted for real cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and all the basics. The whole place belongs to you alone, and one dog is welcome to stay.

Outside sits a private enclosed garden with patio, seating and a barbecue. The main draw is the indoor heated swimming pool, six metres long, available for private use by arrangement. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included; arrive after 3pm and depart by 10am. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

The Jurassic Coast lies within easy reach, with Charmouth's fossil beaches two miles away and Lyme Regis a short drive further. Inland, Bridport offers larger shops and a town centre. This corner of Dorset suits families or small groups wanting space, comfort and a place to swim regardless of the weather.
