Carters Cottage

The Jurassic Coast is within reach, and from Rudge Farm you can reach fossil beaches, dramatic clifftop walks and seaside towns without much effort. Inland, the Bride Valley holds market towns, country pubs and local food producers that have given Dorset a reputation for good eating. The farm itself sits in 22 acres of mixed woodland and lawn with a tennis court, fishing (free, for carp and roach), and enough space to feel genuinely remote while being close enough to get out when you want to.

Carters Cottage is a converted farm building on the ground floor, so no stairs to navigate. Three bedrooms sleep six—one kingsize, two pairs of singles. The open-plan living space has a 55-inch smart TV, full kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave, and a shower room. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. The cottage has its own patio with garden furniture and a barbecue, plus access to shared facilities: a games room with pool table and table tennis, a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a bike store for exploring the lanes. Parking is on-site.

No smoking indoors. The grounds include a small fenced stream and lake about 100 yards from the cottage. A cot is available for an additional charge.
