The Forge

You arrive at The Forge through its own entrance and step straight into an open-plan living space where the kitchen, dining and sitting areas flow together. There's a woodburner, French doors opening onto a decked patio, and entertainment via Freeview TV and DVD. A full kitchen with gas hob and oven, dishwasher and washing machine lets you prepare proper meals. Upstairs, a single bedroom has a kingsize bed; the bathroom is fitted with a bath and shower over. The whole property is yours alone, with parking for two cars and an enclosed graveled garden with furniture and a barbecue.

Dogs stay free and have the run of the downstairs; there's a welcome pack and dog extras for them too. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered. The property sits in the Dorset Hills within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, roughly a mile from a village shop and pub, with restaurants a bit further afield. The Jurassic Coast and its beaches—Weymouth, West Bay, Lyme Regis—are within easy reach, as are walking routes through the surrounding countryside. Forde Abbey and Gardens and the market town of Beaminster make good day trips. No smoking or vaping.
