The Old Timberyard - Carters Cottage

Carters Cottage works well for families or groups needing space to spread out. The four bedrooms sleep eight across a double, another double, two singles, and a bunk bed, with two bathrooms to share. Downstairs there's a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and all the usual kit. A utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The enclosed garden comes with terrace and furniture, and there's parking for two cars on site, plus space for boats or trailers if needed.

The cottage sits in Puncknowle, a conservation village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Jurassic Coast is less than a mile away, making it a genuine base for coastal walks rather than a token claim. Burton Bradstock's beach is three miles off; Abbotsbury has its swannery and gardens, and Weymouth offers the full seaside experience with a Blue Flag beach, Sea Life Centre and nature reserves. Inland, Dorchester is half an hour's drive, Bridport and Lyme Regis are both within reach. Family attractions include Monkey World and the Tank Museum. The essentials—heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels—are included. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.
