Criffel Cottage

Cycle route 7 runs past Criffel Cottage, making it a natural base for exploring the Solway Coast by bike. The nearby village of Ruthwell has historic sites worth visiting, and the wider Dumfries and Galloway region offers coastal walks, wildlife spotting, and quiet countryside. The property sits in open land where you might see geese in winter, skylarks in summer, hares, and barn owls.

The cottage is an upside-down layout: bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor, then stairs up to an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space on the first floor. One bedroom has a king bed, the other has two single beds, sleeping four in total. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge-freezer. A wood-burning stove and oil central heating keep things warm. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and electricity are all included.

Outside there is a small garden with seating and furniture, a bike store, and parking for two cars on site. Games, books and outdoor equipment like swing-ball and petanque are available if you want to stay put. No smoking inside the property. Check-in is after 15:00, check-out before 10:00.
