Dumfries and Galloway draws walkers and mountain bikers for its network of routes through rolling hills and towards the Solway coast. Swallow Lodge sits in a quiet rural setting within reach of this landscape, a detached property on its own grounds with an enclosed garden and parking for two cars. The lodge is all on one level: a double bedroom and a twin room, a shower room, and an open-plan living space with a woodburner, kitchen area, and dining zone. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with electricity and heating.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine for self-catering. A wood burner is included with initial logs, and there is an EV charging point available at cost. One well-behaved dog stays free; the property has an enclosed garden and a bike store for guests exploring the surrounding routes. A shop is a mile away; the nearest pub and restaurant are eight miles off. The property has a natural water supply from a well and a lake in the grounds. Children under three cannot be accommodated. No smoking throughout.

Been Scotland a fair few times now but this is the best place yet. The owners are just great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Cottage is fantastic and is a perfect place to start exploring, if the weather is good then sitting in the garden at night is a must as the sky is amazing.

Had an amazing stay here. The homemade shortbread, mince pies, fresh flowers and bucks fizz was a real treat. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for cooking. We will definitely be back at one point.

The owners Steve and Jean we so lovely on arrival and gave us scones and fresh flowers. The cottage is in a lovely place so quiet and secluded which is exactly what we wanted. We had deer and red Squirrels in the garden and many many different types of birds. I'd recommend this cottage to anyone wanting somewhere that is so comfortable and homely. I hope we got to ho back in the near future as 2 weeks just didn't seem long enough. Thank you both for having us
