Cleughbrae Cottage
Dumfries and Galloway
Cleughbrae Cottage is a detached house built from stone, standing on open moorland along the Southern Upland Way. The setting gives it elevated views across the landscape in all directions. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: one with a super king bed, one with a king bed, and one with two single beds. There are two bathrooms—one en suite to the main bedroom with a shower cubicle, and a family bathroom upstairs with a bath and shower attachment. The ground floor contains the living spaces: a sitting room with a woodburner and French doors to the garden, plus a kitchen and dining area fitted with an electric cooker, dishwasher and all the standard appliances you'd need to cook properly. A separate utility room holds the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The enclosed garden is lawned with a sitting-out area and furniture; there's also a bike store and private parking on site. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the burner and a small welcome pack. Wi-Fi is available. The cottage draws water from a natural spring. Dalry village lies close by, with a shop, pub and restaurant three miles away. The location suits walkers and outdoor enthusiasts—it sits on Scotland's coast-to-coast long-distance route and near five of the Seven Stanes mountain bike trails. The Dark Skies Park is within reach for stargazing. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.
