Telford Cottages - Dairy Cottage
Dumfries and Galloway
Dairy Cottage is a converted coaching inn dating to 1822, part of the Telford Mews courtyard in Beattock. The single bedroom upstairs contains a kingsize and single bed; downstairs there's a shower room, kitchen and living space. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are provided. One dog stays free.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking—electric cooker, microwave, air fryer, coffee machine and washing machine—so you can prepare meals between days out. An electric stove heats the cottage through winter. There's parking for up to four cars on the property, and the courtyard setting keeps the building relatively quiet despite its location near Beattock.
Walking is the main draw here. Moffat, an hour's gentle stroll away, sits on the Southern Upland Way and was Scotland's first Walkers Are Welcome town, with independent shops and cafés to explore. The 7stanes mountain biking trails spread across Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders; horse riding, quad biking and golf are available locally. Beaches, forests, castles and National Trust gardens dot the wider region. Non-smokers only.
