About Premier Inn Dumfries

Caerlaverock Castle, Mabie Forest and the Solway Firth are all within reach of Premier Inn Dumfries, making it a handy base for exploring the surrounding countryside and coastline. Golf, fishing and horse riding can be arranged nearby, and there are pubs and restaurants close at hand for evenings out, alongside entertainment options in the local area.

The hotel itself has 102 rooms spread across two floors, each with an en-suite bathroom, and accessible rooms are available. Rooms are kept clean and come with reliable showers, though some are a little dated in style. A restaurant and bar operate on site, with breakfast offering a good range of choices to start the day. Free WiFi, drinks in the room, and 24 hour reception are all included.

Staff are frequently singled out for going the extra mile, with particular mention of Angela's helpfulness. Free on-site parking is available to guests who register their vehicle at reception on arrival, and an electric vehicle charge point is fitted for those who need it. It makes a practical stop for visiting Dumfries and Galloway without frills.

It's quite possibly the hottest Premier Inn I've ever stayed in. To give them their dues it is well advertised that there is no AC, there was a fan in the room, and you can have a lighter sheet if you're too warm... However, if I wanted to sleep in 25°C I would've saved my £100 and put it towards a holiday in Greece. With a 10° temperature difference between the room and the outside I was contemplating sleeping in the car. The ladies on the desk were nice enough for the times I interacted with them and the entry road adds a little spice to the whole affair. No comments on the restaurant as we went to Willie's Wraps for breakfast.

Great stopping point. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, from reception staff taking the time to give our neurodivergent child stickers, to the restaurant staff making sure all the little details are good. The building works next door were barely audible, and we had been pre warned. Only mildly negative was the room was exceptionally stuffy. The corridor was cooler than the room, even with the fan on and window open. But that's not the hotels fault!

We recently stayed at the Premier Inn in Dumfries. We have done this many times over the last two years. The last time we stayed we had our breakfast there. The quality of the food was good. However, I would like to remark about the service. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with the happy smiling face of Angela. Very friendly and professional. Throughout our visit she ensured that we were okay. Can't recommend her enough. Made our dining experience very pleasant.

Excellent location, near all the amenities and petrol station. Room was great, slightly warm but we already had a fan available in the room. The beds are brilliant, comfortable and cosy. Premier inn breakfast, you can’t fault it. Delicious, hot and plenty of choices. Met a lovely lady called Angela who was very welcoming, friendly and kind. All staff have been great, friendly and welcoming. We will be coming back soon, as we are travelling from the Southwest, so this is a halfway mark for us to Ben Nevis.
