Cairndale Hotel & Spa

My wife and I had a bespoke package, morning spa treatment, lunch, then a massage, dinner and overnight stay, breakfast. We had a lovely time, the spa pool, sauna and steam rooms are amazing, so relaxing. The young staff are lovely and so helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean, big comfy beds. The food in the restaurant is delicious and great quality. We had a great time and will return. We travelled by train, the station is just 5 mins walk.

Stayed for a spa overnight. Room was very dated. Was told we had been upgraded but was still very dated room. Apparently spa access is an extra charge over and above. Stayed in spa hotels all over the world and never had this. Spa access is always included but treatments are extra. It is in the details but cleverly worded and further down the confirmation. Staff were lovely and food was delicious. Did a TripAdvisor review before I left and manager thought it would be appropriate to wait for 2 women to check out to berate me,shout at me and make fun of me in front of the staff. Made it very personal which is totally unprofessional. God help the staff having to work for this supercilious man.

I am absolutely appalled, deeply offended, and frankly shocked by how childish, rude, and unprofessional your director’s response has been. On top of everything else, you have outright lied about sending an email—I have received no such communication at all, so stop trying to twist facts and make yourselves look good. To brush off the unbearable heat as unavoidable is laughable—I have air conditioning in my own home for your information mr Jnr… , so I know full well that proper comfort can be provided when a business actually cares. What’s more, openly admitting you prioritise guests who spend more on the spa is not only incredibly snobbish and rude, it proves your service is selective and unfair. I chose your hotel precisely because you market yourself as a "hotel and spa"—I never would have booked had I known pool access would cost £65 per person for just two hours. Hiding such massive, unreasonable fees until after booking is deliberately misleading. Add to that a room that hit 32°C with no proper way to cool it, making rest impossible, and this stay was nothing short of a nightmare. Dismissing these serious issues so lightly, while lying about contact and showing such clear favouritism, is disrespectful and shows a total lack of care for anyone who doesn’t pay your highest prices. I expected honesty, comfort, and respect, and I received none of those things. I am extremely hurt and disappointed—and I believe a full refund or fair compensation is the absolute least you should offer to begin making this right. I wish to make a formal complaint Booked this hotel as a ‘hotel and spa’ not to realise you have to pay £65 per person for two hours to use the pool never in my life have I been to a hotel spa before and had to pay for the pool? You pay for treatments? yes never the pool. The room was stuffy. 32°. No air conditioning couldn’t breathe. We was given a very small fan and had to put it on the windowsill to try and keep cool all night. The hotel is clean and comfortable and in a good Location The food is good although I think It’s slightly expensive for what you get. I wouldn’t be staying here again. I do think it’s false Advertisement as this is not a hotel spa it is two separate businesses in the same building

We had a fabulous spa break. The spa was amazing. Beautiful pool not too dark, with lots a places to relax. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Loved being able to order from our loungers. Lovely lunch from the light bites menu. Had a wonderful facial from Wendy. So relaxing. Would highly recommend. Gorgeous room with plenty of space and comfy bed. Had dinner in the Oaks restaurant. Food was great and the staff were again friendly and welcoming.
