About Aberdour Guest House

A breakfast included in the stay and a restaurant serving straightforward pub fare set the tone at Aberdour Guest House in Dumfries, where the on-site bar also gives guests somewhere to unwind without leaving the building. Drinks can be brought to the room, and free WiFi runs throughout for anyone catching up on emails or streaming in the evening.

The rooms themselves are kept simple and functional, with en-suite bathrooms as standard and family rooms available for those travelling with children. Reception operates around the clock, which suits guests arriving late or heading off early, and pets are welcome for those not travelling alone. Free on-site parking takes the hassle out of arriving by car.

Dumfries and Galloway's countryside makes this a natural base for walking and cycling, and golfers have Silloth on Solway Golf Club within reach. Beyond the guest house, the surrounding area offers further pubs, restaurants and evening entertainment, making it easy to fill the day and come back to a relaxed, unfussy stay.

Very nice place for the room price. Beds were comfortable enough, room was a comfortable temperature with an en suite- too, we received a tray with tea, coffee, and biscuits along with a kettle. Generally a nice building to be in- my only complaints are that there was a small amount of dust, and a clunking noise coming from the fan/vent in the en suite was nonstop. Nothing too unworkable, though. Desk was often unmanned, but it didn't take much longer than 5 minutes to be noticed each time. Staff were helpful and gave information needed, I felt safe in the hotel. And of course, the location of the hotel is unbelievably useful. Easy access to the town made our trip that much nicer and easier. Overall opinion: worth the price for sure. Safe hotel with comfortable rooms, and attentive staff.

The Aberdour is probably the best b & b we’ve stayed in for a very very long time, Amanda is the perfect host, nothing is too much trouble & she was always polite & happy to help in any way she could, the room was comfortable & clean with tv & kettle & a bath with shower & a very tasty cooked breakfast. It’s in a perfect location with in a short walking distance of town & train station & it’s pet friendly too & we will be more than happy to stay there again probably next year, we couldn’t recommend the b & b enough. Thank you Amanda for a very nice few days away from home.

Myself and some friends went on a cycling trip in the summer and stayed here for one night on our journey. They were very accommodating and had a very warm, friendly feel to the place! The rooms were clean, and the breakfast was delicious. Big thank you, from the Ben2Ben crew 🚴🏽‍♀️
