About Craigduckie Shepherd Huts

Craigduckie Shepherd Huts sit in open countryside at Easter Craigduckie, on the northern edge of Dunfermline, offering a quieter alternative to staying in a hotel or guest house in the town itself. Each hut is a self-contained unit with its own shower room and a kitchen area equipped with a hob, oven and fridge, giving guests full independence during their stay.

The huts are aimed at couples and small groups wanting a rural, back-to-basics break without sacrificing comfort, set within easy reach of Dunfermline's abbey, Pittencrieff Park and town centre by car. Their countryside setting makes them a good match for visitors keen to explore the wider Fife landscape as well as the town.

With private outdoor space around each hut and a genuinely different style of stay compared to Dunfermline's hotels and guest houses, Craigduckie appeals to those looking for something distinctive, whether as a short romantic break or a base for walking the surrounding countryside.

Perfect place for a relaxed, cosy recharge. Everything you could want/need available in the hut, the bath hut looked amazing (weather wasn't in my favour on this occasion!) Katie popped over the day I arrived with milk and a cake, checking everything was satisfactory which was a lovely touch. Very cosy with the log fire, plenty of firewood etc available, no drafts. Great place for solo, couples or families alike! Would definitely return.

Thanks for the lovely break at Craigduckie Shepherds Huts. The huts were clean, well stocked and practical. Location of the huts and views of the loch are breathtaking. The kids loved feeding the chickens in the coop outside and collecting fresh eggs with excitement. Plenty of space to run around. The host Kate was so nice and welcoming. Fresh cake on arrival was a nice touch. Kate give a tour of the farm for my 5 year old who absolutely loved seeing the farm animals. I would highly recommend this place for family’s with kids or couples who would love a peaceful retreat

We stayed in the cabin for 2 nights and really wish we had stayed for more. Our kids (8yrs and 2yrs) absolutely loved our time at Craigduckie Farm. There's lots of open space and freedom and you automatically relax just being there. I'm a real city girl, so I was a bit apprehensive about a farm stay - this was the most beautiful stay ever. The cabins are clean and so comfortable. I really loved that they are parked on gravel, so no muddy shoes or mess coming in and out. We booked the cabin with the outdoor twin bath tubs, and it was so lovely to soak in a hot tub listening to the sheep and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. The cooking facilities, outdoor bbq and indoor stove and oven, was perfect and so much fun to today marshmallows and bbq. We ordered the breakfast basket, which provided us with delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It is close to a fishing farm, where my boys went fishing for our dinner, and Dunfermline is close by for a bit of shopping. Katie and her beautiful family were the icing on the cake. They are so friendly and gave us a wonderful farm tour. They have set up a beautiful farm stay that our family will talk about for years to come.

What a fantastic stay! The huts are beautifully finished and extremely comfortable. Katie has thought of every detail, and was so welcoming. The setting is very tranquil and feels like a real escape to the country, with great views and lots to explore round about. We especially enjoyed meeting the lambs during our well-timed visit at the end of May. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would love to stay again... 🐑💕
