About DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh Queensferry Crossing

Views of the Queensferry Bridge from many of the rooms are the standout feature at DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh Queensferry Crossing, a 147-room hotel on St. Margaret's Head overlooking the Firth of Forth. Spread across six floors, the hotel makes a practical base for exploring both Edinburgh and Fife, with free on-site parking removing one of the usual city-trip headaches.

Rooms are en suite with air conditioning, and there are accessible options available, along with a lift serving all floors. Guests can eat at the on-site restaurant, which also does kids' meals and packed lunches, or unwind at the bar; breakfast, room service and in-room drinks are all available too. The hotel has a gym, a garden, and meeting rooms and business facilities for those travelling with work in mind, plus porter, concierge and laundry services. It's also set up as a wedding venue. Some reports suggest the rooms don't always get the level of upkeep guests expect, so it's worth bearing in mind.

Outside the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and watersports, along with walking routes, pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to smoothing over any rough edges in the rooms themselves.

We stayed here on a short one-night break and were largely really happy with everything. We were upgraded to a King Deluxe on arrival - plus very tasty complimentary welcome cookies - and the room was very nice with a huge bed and nice bathroom. But the star of the show was the view of the bridges and the Firth of Forth, which was absolutely stunning through floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows. We spent more time than you'd like to admit simply watching the world go by. One minor criticism here would be that the room only had a single comfortable chair, in addition to a desk chair. Much of everything else in the room was as you'd expect and it was very clean. The restaurant and bar were contemporary, clean and quiet with pleasant staff, as those at reception had been. We found a quiet corner to enjoy a drink and a coffee. We were slightly disappointed to have to pay for parking when staying at the hotel. I can understand the desire to stop people using the car park as a meeting point but it seemed unnecessary for patrons. Would also suspect the car park could potentially become full at busy times. Gym looked more than adequate.

I visited the breakfast buffet in the morning. A sign at the entrance asked guests to wait to be seated, so I stood by the entrance as instructed. A staff member named David warmly welcomed the guest ahead of me, escorted him to a table, poured tea and prepared the table setting. After that, I was left waiting for quite some time without any acknowledgement. When he eventually approached me, he simply checked my breakfast entitlement, pointed towards the dining area and told me to go inside. No table was assigned, so I had to find one myself. After collecting my food, I discovered that my table still contained leftovers from the previous guest. No plates, cups or cutlery had been prepared, and I could not find any available at the buffet stations. During this visit, I could not help feeling that I was treated differently from some other guests. While some guests received a warm welcome and an introduction to the buffet, my travelling companions and I received noticeably less attention. They also had to wait outside the restaurant for a long time before being acknowledged. Although I cannot know the reason, the difference in service left us feeling unwelcome. I have stayed at other DoubleTree hotels, including the DoubleTree in central Tbilisi, where the service was consistently professional and welcoming. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations. I hope the hotel will review its front-of-house procedures to ensure that every guest receives the same level of courtesy and professionalism.

Stayed here at Christmas 2025 and had a great stay. The staff and service was quick and kind. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. We had two rooms for our family of 5 facing different sides and somehow both had beautiful bridge and water views. (Multiple bridges.) It's close to a bus stop with a short walk, and super easy access with a rental car. We had breakfast in the restaurant for Christmas morning, but it was pretty basic. Good, but basic. We would definitely recommend this quiet cozy hotel to anyone!

We recently held my brother's wedding at the Doubletree by Hilton Queensferry, and I honestly couldn't recommend it highly enough. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were exceptional throughout the entire day – friendly, professional, attentive, and always willing to help. They made sure every detail was taken care of, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the occasion without having to worry about a thing. The venue itself was fantastic, We had an excellent view of the fourth during the ceremony, the food during the meal was outstanding and the whole event felt effortless thanks to the excellent organisation and support from the team. Weddings can be stressful, but the staff ensured everything ran smoothly and seamlessly from beginning to end. A huge thank you to everyone involved for helping make such a special day truly memorable. I would not hesitate to recommend Hampton by Hilton Queensferry to anyone looking for a wedding venue or a place to stay. Five stars all round!
