About The Stag Head Hotel
The Stag Head Hotel suits anyone after a lively, no-frills base in the middle of Edinburgh rather than a quiet retreat. Set above a bar and disco on the High Street, it's a good fit for guests happy to trade peace and quiet for atmosphere, easy access to the action, and a proper sense of the city's older character.
There are just five rooms, three of them en suite, so this is a small, simple operation rather than a large hotel. Guests get breakfast and drinks in the room, with a restaurant and outdoor seating downstairs alongside the bar. Practical extras include free WiFi, 24-hour reception, meeting rooms, kids' meals and a welcome for pets, which makes it workable for a range of short stays.
Outside, the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, golf and fishing nearby, plus watersports, pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Edinburgh Zoo is a local point of interest, and Dalmeny lies just over a mile away. Rooms are also said to look out towards the Forth Bridges, a nice touch for a hotel of this size and price point.

What a little gem in beautiful Queensferry! I was visiting Edinburgh for a quick city break and saw The Stag on booking.com and thought I would give it a go. The staff were amazing so friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. I think I was the only one in on the night I stayed had a shared bathroom to myself, this wouldn’t bother me anyway if there were others staying. Food and drinks were very good price. For breakfast try the bakery next door also excellent. Great views of the famous bridge too!

We are a family of 4 staying nearby and came here for a few drinks. We decided to stay for food and so glad we did. We had a warm welcome, the food (especially the wings) was really tasty and good value and the view at the back was brilliant. We stayed for extra drinks and came back a second night because we enjoyed it so much. Thank you to the staff.

To the owner/investor: you have a lovely hotel with very nice finishing. Your staff is killing it. 1. Rude lady: unwelcoming, looking at you with hate for making them to actually work. 2. Uninformed charges: we booked right them on the moment. A week later almost we were charged additional fees which were never informed or consent. It is unfair not to have been given the offer to say yes or no to the second bills. Pretty ilegal. No words from staff on the moment, not email from the staff by email or calls. Just sttaight away a second charge to my card which I am disputing.
