We had a fantastic stay at Wick River Campsite and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The campsite is exceptionally clean, well maintained, and has spacious pitches with plenty of room. The shower and toilet facilities are excellent – modern, spotless, and only a few years old, making them some of the best we've used. There's also a great little shop on site that's really handy and well stocked. The location is ideal too, with just a short walk into Wick, making it easy to explore the town without needing to drive. During our stay we watched the World Cup Final with the locals at the Mountain Dew Bar, which was a brilliant experience. Don't be put off by the exterior – it's a friendly, welcoming pub with a great atmosphere. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at Mackays Hotel and breakfast at Morag's cafe which rounded off our visit perfectly. Overall, Wick River Campsite is an excellent base for exploring Caithness and the North Coast 500. Clean, friendly, modern, and in a great location – we'd happily stay here again.

Wow what a site. They have thought of everything. This place is immaculate and right by the river (as the name suggests) and a short walk to Wick. Not a big site so not noisy. The facilities are fabulous. Indoor lounge type area with a coffee machine and outside seating. Washing up area and a laundry room which also has a fridge and freezer and a charging cupboard. There is a little shop on site which is good. The people were really friendly. Would stay again.

We were only here for a night and we were late arrivals. All our info and site number were left out for us. It’s was so simple. The site looked immaculate and altho it was really busy (end of July) it was quiet by 10pm. The few hours we spent setting up, etc it was really nice. Shower block for ladies was immaculate. In the morning we were one of the very early risers moving on so again never really experienced it as such but what we did see i would totally recommend. And I’m not a seasoned camper by any means. Nice hint we were pitch number 8 right across from the small park if u want/don’t want to be near it. My daughter loved it and there’s loads of rabbits bobbing about so she was in her element.

This campsite is a total gem and we would highly recommend. If you are looking for a campsite whilst traveling Scotland or doing the NC500 then this is the place to book to rest and recuperate at. The location is wonderful and the site very well laid out. The facilities are second to none, very clear, modern and offer space and privacy. The proximity to Inverness (via walking down the river path) is excellent. The pitch size is great, the well stocked shop very good, and general feel of the place makes you feel welcome. Definitely would come back here. Thank you to all those that run such a great place.
