Garfield Lodge

Rolling farmland and quiet lanes surround Garfield Lodge, a detached timber property positioned on private land in East Devon. The setting offers the kind of isolation that makes countryside breaks restorative—wildlife-watching from the decked terrace, footpaths leading directly from the property, and the village of Hawkchurch within reach for a pub visit or exploring the parish church. A surfboard and canoe store hints at nearby water access.

The lodge accommodates six across three bedrooms: one with a king bed and ensuite shower, two with a pair of single beds each. A second bathroom has a bath with shower over. Everything is on the ground floor, accessed via three steps to the entrance. The open-plan living and dining space flows into a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook proper meals. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. There is parking for two cars on site, and one pet is welcome.

The property suits families or groups wanting a self-contained base for exploring Devon's countryside on foot, or for a quieter break away from it all. No smoking is permitted inside.
