Big Sky Tipi Holidays

What a wonderful glamping site! We’ve just returned from a weekend there as a group of five families with young kids (ages 4-8). The tipis are large and comfy and have everything you could need. And the site is huge with lots of space for kids to run around. The woodland is a magical place. Nearby the observatory and castle and great, and easily walkable outings. We’re already talking about going back

Had a lovely 2 days at Big Sky Tipi’s. Sarah was great throughout the experience. Very helpful & kind. Wonderful walks from the camp site right on the 1066 walk. Very dog friendly. Bathrooms super clean & hot showers. Camp fires at night roasting marshmallows ……perfect!

What a special place! Sarah and Geoff were so friendly, a welcome change from recent hotel stays that was much appreciated. They thought of everything, from fridge space to extra blankets and a light that illuminated the gorgeous inside of the tipi. We absolutely loved the themed illustrations on each tipi, beautifully designed by different independent artists, and the accessible bathroom was the most beautiful I’ve ever been to as a wheelchair user! It is extraordinarily difficult to find accommodation that is wheelchair friendly and pet friendly, and although I was incredibly skeptical about being frozen overnight, this was the most pleasant stay, I felt as cozy as a freshly baked cinnamon bun! I loved learning more about the Sioux Indians especially as I’m currently reading Braiding Sweetgrass which is all about Indigenous wisdom. We were also delighted to be able to take advantage of eggs from their rescue hens, and if you’d like them, a smores kit, bacon, and sausages are also available! Regarding wheelchair access: There are step free tipis available, but should you stay in one that isn’t like we did, be reassured the two steps leading to the entrance are shallow. The terrain is a bit tricky to navigate, particularly just before the accessible loo where there is a dip, but other than installing some sort of deck particularly for wheelchairs to traverse I’m not sure that can be helped. It is rural and that’s part of the charm. We hope to be back soon! Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Fabulous weekend at big sky Tipis, stayed in Swallow Tipi and it was perfect for a family of four. They have thought of everything to make it a comfortable Glamping experience. Thank you… would highly recommend
