Such a beautiful historical place, the ruins of the Abbey & the Palace. It's great you can get a headset & player which means you can do the your in your own time & replay any room when you need. The history of the Royal family & Scotland is so interesting, there's so much to take in & see. Mary Queen of Scots of course is the favourite ❤️. I'd recommend getting a ticket before you go. You cantbtske photos inside the palace itself, but you can everywhere else. The cafe sells delicious coffee & treats & the gift shop is worth a visit.

Well organised and thoughtful movement through the venue. Wonderful multimedia guide to talk you through the rooms. The wardens in each room are incredibly helpful and will answer any questions you have if they can. Quite a complex history to keep track of but picked up quite a bit as we went along. Definitely worth seeing when in Edinburgh

Make timd to visit here. You will be pleasantly suprised with the amount to look at and the history it holds. Staff are exceptionally helpful. Im disabled and they coudnt have done any more to assist. Please try the cafe - great coffee and food all reasonsblt priced. The insite shop is a little pricey but its a Royall Palace so thats to be expected. However, the guide books, postcards and fancy royal tea in tins , and tea towells, were reasonibly priced. The garden are beautiful and it takes your breath away to stand in the garden looking at Arthurs Seat right next to it. Although you cannot take photos inside the palace - you can outside and in the gardens. I managed to take some spectauler pictures. Would i go there again - yes i would. Its one of those places where each time you visit you will notice something new/ differant its just there is so much to see you wont always see it all the first couple of times.

Holyrood Palace is a beautiful and fascinating place to visit. The palace is full of history and stunning architecture, but the highlight for me was the old Holyrood Abbey. The ruins are absolutely breathtaking and have a unique, peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s a must visit for anyone exploring Edinburgh and interested in Scotland’s rich history. Highly recommended!
