About Hotel du Vin Edinburgh

Walk into a room at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh and you'll find generous bathrooms and properly comfortable beds, the kind of detail that makes a 47-room hotel feel more considered than most. Rooms and suites are well-appointed rather than flashy, with air conditioning, room service and drinks available to bring straight to your door. The building itself spans three floors, with a lift for guests who'd rather not take the stairs.

Downstairs, the bistro and wine bar do a lot of the work: breakfasts are varied and satisfying, the wine list is a genuine strength, and there's outdoor seating for slower mornings. Staff are attentive and quick to help, whether that's arranging something through the concierge or sorting laundry and luggage during a stay. The hotel also handles meetings and weddings, with dedicated function space for either.

Set in Edinburgh's Old Town on Bristo Place, the hotel sits within easy walking distance of Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, with pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. There's no parking on site, so it suits guests arriving on foot, by taxi or public transport. Pets are welcome, and the surrounding streets stay notably quiet for a location this central.

This has to be the best hotel in Edinburgh. We had a fantastic overnight stay with lovely breakfast. The hotel has everything you would want, great staff, perfectly clean and tons of character. Located in great location but without any noise. We are not wine drinkers but never felt we had to be to enjoy all the amenities. The private courtyard was an amazing extra and unexpected so close to the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. It may seem slightly expensive but you can feel the luxury and you will not be disappointed

Our experience at Hotel du Vin was unforgettable. Our room, Dominion de Valdepusa, had so much charm and had the most comfortable bed, a great delight to arrive to after walking all day. The food, staff, and service were all excellent and the bar was a highlight for us. The hotel is very well located, with all types of adventures at a walking distance. Looking forward to coming back here!

Brilliant experience having our intimate wedding reception at Hotel du Vin, Edinburgh. At the outset, things started a little rocky with old Events colleagues, who have since left the business. But everything brought back on track with the help of Gavin and Ben. Everything meticulously planned on the day, so all we needed to do was show up and enjoy ourselves! A beautiful characterful building with lots of special memories. Well done to the skilled bar staff, the martinis and cocktails definitely made the night! 🍸

Brilliant Burns Night at Hotel du Vin Just attended the Burns Night at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, delicious food, perfectly paired whisky, and a lively haggis address that set the tone for the night. Staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole evening feel special. A memorable celebration — I’d happily come back next year.
