About Menzies Guest House
Edinburgh's mix of Victorian terraces and easy access to the city's sights makes it a popular base, and Menzies Guest House offers a modest, homely option among them. Set on Leamington Terrace, it's a converted Victorian property with just seven rooms, giving it a more personal, guesthouse feel rather than a hotel atmosphere.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks facilities and free WiFi, with family rooms also available. Breakfast is included and vegetarian, served each morning, and there's a TV lounge for guests to relax in. Free on-site parking is a useful bonus for anyone arriving by car.
Edinburgh Zoo is within reach for a day out, and Haymarket station is under a mile and a half away, making it straightforward to reach the city centre. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues are all nearby, along with a golf course for those wanting to fit in a round during their stay.

A lovely place to stay! Just a short walk from Bruntsfield Links and Bruntsfield Place, loads of stuff to do nearby. However, still on a quiet and peaceful street. Room was cozy and home-like. Service was excellent and friendly. Definitely five stars.

A small quiet place. It was not cheap, considering the fact that one has to share a bathroom. The shower room is tiny. You have to step out of the shower cabin straight onto the staircase landing. It felt very weird and uncomfortable for the first couple of days. The staircase is very steep. It would not be easy to manage if you have a large or medium-size luggage. The room had a kettle and plenty of tea and coffee there.

Lovely cosy guest house, the hosts are helpful and kind. Check-in is usually around 2, but we arrived early, and they were able to accommodate us kindly. The rooms are quaint and very pretty. They were very clean and came with tea/coffee making facilities. The location is about a 20/25 minute walk to the main area, so a little far, but there is a bus stop just around the corner, which worked well for us. Definitely would stay again.

Closer to (7/10) We stayed 2 nights in a small family room. This place is quiet and cute and was an affordable stay with some drawbacks. When we arrived we had no way of contacting the owners until we borrowed a UK phone to confirm we could check in. We had 1 key for 3 people which was awkward because it went to both the bedroom and the separate bathroom so you could get locked in the hall. The beds and pillows were extremely low quality and creaked a lot. The pillows in particular were like a laptop case thin. It’s worth it to book a private bathroom, because it’s located outside of the bedroom. It’s the very basics, no toiletries, we also didn’t get extra towels or a change of bedding. Overall, functional and quiet.
