About Radisson Collection Hotel Royal Mile Edinburgh
Edinburgh Castle, St Giles' Cathedral and the length of the Royal Mile are all within walking distance of Radisson Collection Hotel Royal Mile Edinburgh, which occupies a spot on George IV Bridge in the heart of the Old Town. The surrounding streets are suited to exploring on foot, with cycling routes and walking areas nearby, and plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants dotted around the area for evenings after sightseeing.
The hotel has 136 rooms spread across six floors, finished in a bright, contemporary style with air conditioning, mini bars and en-suite bathrooms as standard, along with free WiFi throughout. Accessible rooms are available, and porter and concierge services are on hand for anything guests need sorting during their stay.
An Italian restaurant and a bar sit on-site, alongside a spa and gym for guests wanting to unwind or keep up a routine. Breakfast is served daily, and facilities extend to meeting rooms and business services for those combining the trip with work, plus a garden, laundry service and luggage storage. There's no parking at the property, so onward travel is best planned around public transport or on foot, given how central the location is. Pets are welcome.

Terrible experience — poor service, dirty rooms, and badly designed spaces We stayed as a family of four (two adults, two kids), and our experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, no help was provided for our luggage despite a steep entrance. The receptionist claimed to be “alone,” which was false — we saw other staff but none of them bothered to assist. We were left struggling with heavy luggage and kids after a long journey. The breakfast area was extremely cramped. It was so small we were constantly bumping into other guests just walking to our table. It felt chaotic and unpleasant, definitely not what you expect when paying for a relaxing holiday. We booked the Royal Mile Suite, which was large but poorly designed — the layout made no sense and the space felt dark and gloomy. Worst of all, the cleanliness was unacceptable. The suite was dirty everywhere, and honestly, it looked like they barely bothered to clean. We regretted booking this hotel and would absolutely not recommend it to families or anyone expecting even basic comfort or service. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

We came to Edinburgh for three nights and after looking at a lot of hotels decided on the Radisson Collection. We went for the premier collection on the top floor with a castle view. Lovely view, fridge did not work and was told by reception that it’s not really a fridge?? The bed was big and very comfy, no where to hang your coats in such a spacious room. Parking was great and very reasonable for a city. Breakfast was nice with a good choice although the bacon was terrible and under cooked and fatty. On our last day there was a big group of about 70 and they ran out if everything and when I asked a waiter for some items that had ran out he replied he was busy sorting out the juice. Would have thought he would have been better replenishing the food instead of cleaning the juice area and been more helpful. We enjoyed our stay, when we checked out I was not asked how our stay was? Friendly staff but for a 5 star a few minor issues.

Absolutely fantastic hotel for seeing the sights in Edinburgh. Loved our weekend stay and we actually got married here! The rooms were lovely, we had a complimentary upgrade to a suite as we had our ceremony here too. From the moment we arrived to check out the staff were fantastic; short notice pressing of my wedding dress was arranged without a problem by the front of house manager. Really appreciated all the little touches. Great place for getting about too; short walk to the castle, art gallery, Old Town, Christmas markets etc etc. Loved it :-)

LOVE THIS HOTEL! You walk inside and in but a moment you've entered this beautiful, modern oasis...your new home away from home...in one of the world's most extraordinary cities!! The reception desk staff are some of the most gracious and patient people I've had the pleasure to meet and interact with... They set the mood beautifully. My room was on the front side of the hotel and from my modern room the ancient building across the way was a perfect "opposites attract" kind of moment! Everything about my room was quirky, fun, hip, and most comfortable and quiet!! The giant shower was equally decadent and soothing all at the same time! My giant bed was sooooo equally comfortable and soothing after long days of walking all over Edinburgh.... Just saying! The breakfast buffet in the very nice dining room was quite delicious and full of choices that should appeal to even picky eaters. The staff aim to make everyone happy and I think they succeed beautifully! The neighborhood is quirky and the hotel is just around the corner and a short walk from Edinburgh Castle! I highly recommend this well-appointed modern hotel and the great team of personnel who all make it tick with great ease and excellence! Bravo!!
